CIED researchers published a paper in October 2017 in Energy Policy about the UK smart meter rollout titled ‘Vulnerability and resistance in the United Kingdom’s smart meter transition‘ presenting a critique of the Smart Meter Implementation Program (SMIP). The study was criticised in a letter to Energy Policy by researchers at the UCL Energy Institute.
