Professor Benjamin Sovacool has been cited in a Nature Outlook article on the history of energy transitions titled ‘Power through the ages‘. The article, which is part of a special ‘Energy Transitions’ Outlook published in November 2017, presents an account of the way energy has shaped society throughout history starting from King Henry VIII’s seizure of Church property and the surge of coal right up to the current era of transition to a low carbon economy. The article cites Professor Sovacool saying, among other things, that compared to previous energy transitions, ‘this time we can actively plan and manage transition’.
